Until
January 2000, the Office of Fair Trading was housed in two
separate buildings in the vicinity of Chancery Lane.
The Property
Advisors to the Civil Estate selected Fleetbank House (an
existing ten storey block on the side of Salisbury Square
and constructed in the early 1970s) for the OFT as a new location
that now brings the whole OFT under one roof following the
expiry of their existing leases.
The key
feature of the offices is the flexibility of the space, which
was an important requirement of the client. This was achieved
by the design of a modular ceiling grid and the employment
of relocatable partitioning system.
In addition
to the office area EPR also designed a number of specialist
areas which included staff cafeteria, press conference room
and staff gym.
