EPR
have been appointed to create an interior design scheme for
this five star resort hotel.
Located
1355m above sea level on the southern slopes of the High Tatras
mountains the Grand Hotel Kempinski is one of two luxury hotel
projects currently being undertaken by the developers J&T
Global within the Slovak Republic.
The commission
will include the design of over 130 guestrooms of various
sizes and styles located throughout a series of existing lakeside
buildings. Together with the proposed bar, restaurants and
ballrooms the restoration and refurbishment of this national
cultural monument will bring back many aspects of the grand
1920's resort with a modern interpretation of comfort and
luxury.
As part
of the refurbishment of this historic site a subterranean
contemporary extension is planned, housing a fully equipped
spa and beauty therapy suite. This area of the resort will
provide an oasis of rest and relaxation with a more modern
expression of the historic elegance to be found in the main
buildings.
The resort,
operated by the Kempinski Hotel Group, is planned to open
in December 2006 with the implementation of EPR's design scheme
taking place over the larger part of next year. |
