EPR Shortlisted for ‘Future Retail’ Design Competition

On Redchurch Submission Draft 4 Hires 1

EPR has been shortlisted for the Redchurch Street Design Competition launched by Khaa which called for ideas to imagine a new future for one of London’s most characterful streets.

Designed in collaboration with internationally-renowned artist, Martin Richman and Smart City experts Waymap, the team considered how retail technology will change the high street and how Redchurch Street can respond.

Our proposal is a radical intervention that will unite the community, embrace innovative technologies and create a new public realm that tells the history and future of Redchurch Street. This entails the resurfacing of the street with a rich tapestry of artisan paving - designed and made in collaboration with the local community - which weaves together the collective memory of Redchurch Street and signals its future.

As part of the designs a digital ‘onRedchurch’ app is proposed which will help create a distinct brand identity for the street; attracting visitors through curated activities and connecting users with local retailers.
