Hyatt Hotel at Great Scotland Yard launches
15 Dec 2019

EPR’s highly anticipated Hyatt Hotel at Great Scotland Yard has opened its doors. Situated within a former recruiting office for the Ministry of Defence, the five-star luxury lifestyle hotel comprises 153 guest rooms on the upper floors and a restaurant, parlour tea room and two bars on the ground floor.
The exciting, technically challenging project involved the demolition of the building’s entire existing structure whilst its retained façade was supported, the excavation of a three storey basement and the construction of a two-storey roof extension within the existing mansard to expand the hotel’s capacity. The adjacent Grade II listed Georgian townhouse has been carefully refurbished to provide a set of fully luxurious rooms; restoring and enhancing the building to its original grandeur.
‘Hyatt’s first UK opening for their Unbound Collection at Great Scotland Yard was a technically demanding project that sensitively transformed the Edwardian army recruiting office and its retained brick and stone façades into a vibrant and characterful hotel.’
