Hyatt Hotel at Great Scotland Yard shortlisted for AHEAD Awards

We are excited to share that Hyatt Hotel at Great Scotland Yard has been shortlisted in the ‘Hotel Conversion’ category of the AHEAD Awards — a global celebration of hospitality experience and design.

EPR’s sensitive conversion and extension has preserved and enhanced the style of the original building, which was formerly used as a recruiting office for the Ministry of Defence. Carefully restoring the building into a vibrant and characterful hotel has opened-up this historic location to the wider community, allowing people to enjoy a unique opportunity to access a formerly restricted building.

The area’s history forms the basis of both the architectural exterior and interior treatments of the buildings; refurbished to the highest standard whilst remaining respectful of the original features and surrounding listed buildings. Our design celebrates both the Grade II* listed Georgian brick townhouse and the pleasingly contrasting purple-brown Portland stone masonry of the adjoining Edwardian building.

The ground-floor of Hyatt Hotel at Great Scotland Yard features an eclectic mix of restaurants, bars and function facilities, including two destinations which have been shortlisted in the AHEAD Awards’ ‘Bar, Club or Lounge’ category — Síbín and The 40 Elephants.

The winners of AHEAD Europe 2020 will be announced on 16th November via the AHEAD website. Fingers crossed!
