Join Stephen Pey of EPR Architects, world-renowned ceramic artist Kate Malone MBE and potter Rich Miller to learn about the design and production process behind 24 Savile Row, London, a building clad in 10,000 hand-glazed ceramic tiles. 

Stephen, Kate and Rich will discuss their early glaze experimentation and how, once the preferred glaze was chosen, an extensive testing period was undertaken to ensure that the results formed in the potter’s studio could be replicated architecturally. A crystalline glaze - a challenging production method where textured crystals are encouraged to develop in the firing process - means that no two tiles are exactly same.

The event, which is part of the Building with Ceramics series, is taking part on Tuesday 26th November at the Building Centre, Fitzrovia.
