It’s time we put #RetroFirst

Retro First

EPR Architects is proud to support The Architects’ Journal’s campaign to champion reuse in the built environment.

The climate emergency is the most urgent crisis of our time and we believe that it is vital that as a society we retain and repurpose wherever possible. As architects, the buildings that we reinvent can make a huge impact on that goal, both in terms of sustainability and identity of place.

EPR always looks to retain and reuse in the first instance; and aim to design flexible, adaptable spaces that will stand the test of time.

‘EPR is a proud signatory of the AJ’s RetroFirst campaign. We have a breadth of experience retrofitting and repurposing existing buildings, helping to conserve and enhance existing places and communities. We believe in the benefit that retrofit makes because of the substantial embodied energy savings accumulated in the reuse of existing buildings and aim to work with our clients to deliver innovative design solutions that manifest the identity of place.’
