The hotel is ground-hugging (three storeys high) and oriented to minimise effects of cold northerly winds and maximise the positive benefits of sunlight.
The design is sympathetic to its location with the use of local stone and hard-wearing finishes to withstand the extreme climate. Proposed alongside the hotel are a number of residential apartments to address the acute shortage on the island.
