Seafield Lerwick

Shetland Hotel

A proposal for a four-star 129 bedroom hotel on the outskirts of Lerwick. Located on a stunning coastal greenfield site overlooking the bay, the hotel caters primarily for oil executives visiting the islands and nearby oil and gas fields.

The hotel is ground-hugging (three storeys high) and oriented to minimise effects of cold northerly winds and maximise the positive  benefits of sunlight.

The design is sympathetic to its location with the use of local stone and hard-wearing finishes to withstand the extreme climate. Proposed alongside the hotel are a number of residential apartments to address the acute shortage on the island.
