Mentmore Towers

EPR obtained planning consent to convert the Grade I listed Mentmore Towers into a luxury six-star hotel featuring 101 suites, a spa and a new conference centre. The vast 19th century home was originally designed by Sir Joseph Paxton for the Rothschild family and completed in 1854, but required a full restoration following years of neglect and extensive water damage.

Our design creates a rear wing that is set within the contours of the land and linked to Mentmore Towers by a covered walkway and an ornate roof garden, therefore reducing the visual impact of the new hotel suites, spa and conference centre whilst allowing the house to be restored with minimal impact on its original fabric.
