We are excited to announce that EPR Associate Joe Wheeler joined the Director of Philanthropy at RSBC, Shalni Sood and LFA Senior Programme Manager, Eliza Grosvenor on an episode of the London Festival of Architecture’s Building Sounds podcast.
Recorded from the media suite at the RSBC Life Without Limits Centre, the episode explores the vision behind the project — an uplifting and nurturing home for the charity and its blind and vision impaired beneficiaries — in the context of LFA's chosen theme for 2023, ‘In Common'. The theme allows us to rethink how we create, reclaim and maintain our city to create a space which is truly accessible to all by looking specifically at what connects us and what doesn’t.
In response to the theme and from a disability perspective, Shalni comments, ‘what works for people who are non-sighted also actually works for people who are sighted as well — and the more we can demonstrate that with design and include it, then the more inclusive spaces will become.’
