The introduction of new lead-clad dormer windows with full-height glazing maximises natural light and views across the city. External modifications are complemented by fully accessible facilities. 

The Metcalf has been designed with sustainability at its core. Retrofitting the existing building retains the existing embodied carbon whilst the carbon in the new structural interventions has been minimised by using a timber and steel hybrid solution.
