EPR’s concept design for Virgin Hotel’s new hi-fi listening bar, Hidden Grooves, pays tribute to Virgin’s musical roots with a studio-album themed cocktail menu, light bites and an extensive vinyl collection.
Blending vintage nostalgia with Shoreditch edge, the space was designed to resonate with both locals and hotel guests. The refurbished bar features dedicated listening stations, a DJ booth and a new mezzanine level, all capturing the spirit of the golden age of vinyl.
Taking inspiration from Japanese listening bars, our design, delivered by Virgin Hotels, pairs a colour palette reflective of classic vintage tones with mid-century warmth. High gloss finishes and curved forms reference the shape of vinyl records, while wavy patterns subtly evoke sound waves, creating a cohesive and immersive atmosphere. Styled like a chic 1970s living room, the bar is filled with vintage furniture and music memorabilia that nods to the early days of Virgin Records. ft2
