As executive architect and lead designer, EPR delivered Phase 1 of Poplar Riverside — an 8.3-hectare residential-led mixed-use development on the west bank of the River Lea. Once complete, the scheme will provide 2,800 homes, alongside vibrant commercial and community spaces and a new riverside park.
Phase 1 comprises 643 homes across four buildings ranging from four to 14 storeys. Each building incorporates three or four repeating architectural typologies, unified by a complementary palette of richly detailed brick façades.
Residents will benefit from an impressive range of amenities, including a gym, cinema, swimming pool and spa, with interiors designed by Bergman Interiors. The pool and spa are positioned at a higher level to maximise views across the River Lea, while a newly landscaped park by LDA Design transforms the riverside and enhances the public realm for the wider neighbourhood.

Phase 1 also includes wet and dry residents’ facilities designed by EPR with interior design by Bergman Interiors. The residents’ pool and spa are set at a high level in order to benefit from views across the River Lea and a new landscaped park designed by LDA Design.
