EPR Architects were invited by Ballymore to enter a limited competition to design their Ladbrooke Green mixed use masterplan, a site they are looking to redevelop in conjunction with Sainsburys who currently occupy part of the site.
Whilst integrating a new larger format supermarket, our proposal provides a new high-density residential quarter within a rich variety of spaces , buildings and architecture; which would also establish an exemplary environmental standard in terms of its construction, building materials, waste management and energy usage/retention and low levels of car dependency and ownership.
Legible and strong desire lines create a permeable site, which interlink with a series of new public spaces. New basins and a meadow strengthen and complement the canal side character. The scheme provides a coherent, phaseable high quality urban masterplan that enhances the setting of the Canal and cemetery and keys in to the wider character of Ladbroke Grove and the Grand Union Canal.
