A vibrant new mixed-use community for Brighton
We are delighted to announce that the Secretary of State has granted planning permission for EPR’s redevelopment of the Brighton Gasworks site, unlocking the potential of one of the city’s most challenging brownfield locations.
Our masterplan will transform the derelict site into a vibrant residential and creative business community, delivering 495 homes across nine new buildings, alongside 2,791m2 of commercial space that is expected to create 195 new jobs. Brighton Gasworks will be a permeable and ecologically aware neighbourhood, with generous green spaces, new pedestrian routes and biodiversity enhancements that reconnect the site to its surroundings and create a welcoming gateway between Brighton and the South Downs.
This milestone marks a significant step towards the regeneration of the site, which will prioritise placemaking, redefine the neighbourhood’s character and contribute positively to Brighton’s future growth.
