Our Manchester studio recently displayed two of our models for Colloco in the AiMxMSA: Making Matters exhibition. Bringing together work at different scales, from conceptual studies to refined presentation pieces, the exhibition explores how physical models shape and communicate architectural ideas.
At EPR, model-making is central to our design process. Our London studio houses a dedicated model-making workshop that supports our work on multiple levels, allowing us to iterate on ideas, explore alternatives and refine design decisions. Equally, it acts as a powerful communication tool — enabling clients, consultants and colleagues to experience designs at a human scale and better understand complex concepts. For us, making is not just a method, but a core part of how we develop and share architecture.
Our hand-crafted 1:200 Colloco model was built by our in-house modelmakers using a combination of traditional and contemporary techniques, while the 1:50 façade model explores a detailed section of the building’s glazed brick exterior.
