We are delighted to share that our innovative proposals for The Cavendish Hotel have received planning consent, unlocking the full potential of the building and establishing it as a flagship hotel within the operator’s London portfolio.
Our proposals reposition the hotel as a refreshed, contemporary luxury destination in one of London’s most prestigious neighbourhoods, using a retrofit-first approach to sensitively transform the mid-century building. Our design delivers over 200 guestrooms, signature dining experiences and a refined arrival sequence, while celebrating the heritage and character of the existing building. Enhanced entrances on Duke Street and Jermyn Street welcome guests into a new five-star lobby, with a dramatic triple-height space at the heart of the scheme connecting repositioned meeting and event areas, which flow seamlessly into the hotel’s bar, restaurant and fine-dining spaces. Across the podium, new guest amenities further elevate the hospitality offering and all guestrooms will undergo a comprehensive upgrade.
Sustainability is central to the project’s vision. By adapting, reusing and extending the structure, our proposals bring the building up to modern environmental standards, creating a resilient, future-ready development that reduces carbon impact while reinforcing its contemporary luxury identity.
Congratulations to the whole team — this project is the result of a huge collective effort and also marks EPR’s first appointment as Building Regulations Principal Designer on a hotel project.
